Making a powerful contribution
British Energy

Engaging our stakeholders

British Energy is actively involved in engaging stakeholders in the issues surrounding nuclear power, and its role in the climate change and energy debates.

In particular we interact with UK Government through our responses to formal consultations. These consultations help to shape Government policy and are open to all relevant stakeholders.

Our senior management regularly give speeches to conferences attended by Government, industry, NGOs and the media. We also regularly publish documents that provide in-depth insights into the issues surrounding climate change and energy policy.

British Energy is active in exploring environmental issues through open forum debates with leading independent figures in energy and environmental policy.  We have facilitated a series of highly successful seminars.

Our fifth Corporate Social Responsibility Report, for 2008/9, focuses on our performance in the four key areas of Marketplace, Workplace, Environment and Community.  It presents a set of indicators against which our performance can be compared for the last three years.  View the British Energy CSR report 2008/9.
